On Friday 10th July, the UK office held a successful socially distanced charity event raising a total of £2,640.40 for Marie Curie with an ‘auction of promises’.
A huge number of the team got involved, either spending time or money to provide lots in the auction and by getting involved in the bidding. We are incredibly proud to have raised £1,320.20 through bids alone, and tpUK will be matching this with the charity budget – taking total raised to £2,640.40. This money will go towards nurses and hospice costs for terminally ill patients.
Ben Walker acted as auctioneer with a croquet mallet as his gavel and a spotty Wi-Fi connection, which provided some very tense moments when distinguishing which bids would and would not be included. Promises that were up for grabs in the auction included a huge variety of items but the most popular were things that the UK team have offered to make for their colleagues. This included hand-made vegan chocolates, some socks knitted in a colour of your choice, a pet portrait and 30 samosas for your team, amongst many more.
